Sally Beresford/French Farmhouse Tables
Welcome to Sally Beresford Antiques/French Farmhouse. We specialise in Provincial 17th to 19th Century French Antiques sourced from France and other parts of Europe. We carefully select antique furniture, mirrors, lamps, bedside tables, outdoor architecture pieces as well as unusual items from the early 20th Century.
Combining our antique furniture with our handmade French Farmhouse Tables and French Provincial furniture, Sally Beresford Antiques provides Sydney and region interior decorating services to Interior Designers or clients looking for extra interior design advice. We have a beautiful and historic showroom for our range of artisan made, bespoke tables in hand-selected French timbers. Uniquely crafted locally, using 17th-18th century methods of construction and finish, we can take orders for tables custom made from 1m to 5m.
FRENCH FARMHOUSE TABLES
Hand-crafted, aged European timber tables made to order. The collection encompasses big tables, small tables, extension tables, chairs and dining accoutrement for the discerning buyer.
On their regular buying trips to France, Sally and husband Chris Harvey, scour old growth forests, new oak mills, aging barns, railway carriages and forgotten industrial sites for her favourite timbers - Oak, Cherry, Elm, Chestnut and Baltic Pine (sourced from Holland’s Edam Cheese factories) and a limited selection of carriage and barn oak. The timber is then hand-crafted in Australia to create “French Farmhouse” dining, boardroom and kitchen tables using traditional 17th century methods of construction and finish.
A selection of contemporary and traditional dining chairs completes the collection.
Our Southern Highlands showroom, at the Mount Ashby Estate Cellar Door and Vineyard, is stocked with a stylish collection of 17th-19th century French Provincial and English Georgian antiques, architectural and statement pieces and objets d’art, all hand-selected by Sally on her regular buying trips to France.
With a passion for fine furniture and an innate sense of style, Sally Beresford is best known for breathing new life into beautiful antiques and aged timbers.
An instinctive recognition of the beauty and market appeal in old and often discarded objets d’art – lamps, old tools, and wall decorations - ensures that the Sally Beresford Antiques gallery carries an ever-changing eclectic mix of unusual and beautiful antiques, architectural and decorative pieces.
